School-preneur is an initiative aims to create three-step intervention to introduce & sustain the regular conduct of Entrepreneurship programs and future ready skill-based programs for 5280 Students of 9th- 12th class through capacity building training for 132 teachers of 33 Higher Secondary in Government schools of District Gurugram, Haryana.

Importance of Entrepreneurship Education

Entrepreneurship has been adopted globally as a means of boosting the economy of a country. In a country like India which is regarded as one of the youngest countries in the world with more than 62% of the population in the working age group the scope of Entrepreneurship Education is huge.  Entrepreneurship education benefits students from all socioeconomic backgrounds because it teaches kids to think outside the box and nurtures unconventional talents and skills. Furthermore, it creates opportunity, ensures social justice, instills confidence and stimulates the economy. In the present content Government Schools in both urban areas and rural areas need training and capacity building as well orientation to specific tools and modules to implement entrepreneurship education at school level which will include key components and essentials such as personal development of students, inculcating creating, building self reliance and inspiring students at an early age to take initiative and follow an entrepreneurial approach.

The concept of Entrepreneurship Education amongst school students in supported under New Education Policy 2020. Given the explosive pace of technological development allied with the sheer creativity, the NEP, promotes student entrepreneurs with the exposure to vocational education in partnership with industry and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goal 4.4 (SDG).
